SMIT introduced full series of innovation products in Anga Com 2014

2014 ANGA COM Exhibition and Congress ended with an outstanding result of 450 exhibitors and 17,000 participants from 20th to 22th May, SMIT successfully exhibited its new innovative products, the WIFI CAM, Timeshift CAM, VOD CAM and one new concept solution “Merged TV solution” which acquired highly attention and praise from SMIT partners.

SMIT CI Plus 1.3 VOD CAM enables operators to provide user friendly interactive VOD services on CI Plus compliant IDTVs and provide a complete solution to protect operators content.

This VOD CAM solution had been successfully launched to the market in 2012 and got excellent market feedback.

As for the increasing market demand for the recording function, SMIT launched the Timeshift CAM which could support the pause, playback, fast forward, fast rewind features, this NEW PRODUCT will help a lot for the end users to make sure they will not miss any wonderful moment of a live show.

Another interesting product which attracted a large number of eyeballs is the WIFI CAM, which enables the CI Plus IDTV to play video contents from IP network. CAM receives contents from its WiFi module, completes CAS or DRM decryption and sends the contents to the IDTV in accordance to CI Plus standards.

Highlight of this year’s ANGA show for SMIT is the Merged TV solution, concise user interface, no extra remote controller and all through one tiny USB dongle device could support smooth switching between linear TV and on demand services. Innovative features such as smart program recommendation, CUSTOMIZED programs list, time-shift etc., which greatly improve user watching experience.

Furthermore Merged TV solution helps SMIT to diversify the revenue INCOME model from mainly depending on the hardware sales INCOME to the subsequent value-add and ADVERTISING income. This new solution got excellent market feedback after launching to the market in China early this year.

提交Linear TV would be still the main kind of viewing method in the following years, while the highly developing OTT even though still in its early stages but had been already successfully grabbed more and more attention by the younger generation. SMIT Merged TV solution successfully makes it possible for the marriage of DVB with OTT.
