June 2008, SMIT SIGNED the sales agreement regarding DAB mobile television with GPS function with WASU. WASU is the main force of the DIGITAL TELEVISION development in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. Its main goal is to achieve the evolution from analogue to digital, mobile multimedia audio broadcasting. The achievement of this SALES agreement presents that the partnership between WASU and SMIT has stepped to a further level.

August 2008, SMIT has officially kicked off the Secure CAM Project and planned to deploy enhanced secure CAM in full compliance in 2009. At the same time, SMIT has started the RESEARCH and design of the related CI+ products. SMIT aims to achieve new progress on the new product R&D.

July 2008, Tsinghua Tongfang, TCL and SMIT SIGNED the cooperation agreement with GDCATV, for joint-promoting the integrated DIGITAL TELEVISION (iDTV) into Guangdong MARKET.
